I have been going to do this forever, but I stress about doing new things I haven’t done before. It has been so fun to read what everyone has been up to and see pictures of everyone. My life had been pretty easy going and laid back until about 3 years ago. In 1998 I moved back to Monroe and was hired as a teacher at good old South Sevier High School and have been teaching there for 10 years. My husband Trent is a self-employed general contractor; we own our own construction company – Builders Unlimited. We have 2 little girlie-girls who love to dance, play princess and dress up. Kinley is 7 and McKazie is 3 (It worries me to think that someday I could have a daughter on the drill team!)

My easy-going, laid-back life did a 360 about the same time we found out we were going to have our 2nd baby. I was 3 weeks pregnant when I found out I had a brain tumor – that was a shocker! We planned to have a baby, but not a brain tumor. We decide to wait until after the baby to have the tumor removed because of the risks involved to the baby, but we were shocked again when our baby had to be taken on life flight to Primary Children’s Medical Center where she spent 2 months in intensive care. Thank God for miracles -Things have finally started to mellow out at our house.

It’s been fun helping Kelly with the plans for our reunion. We have spent a lot of time going through old photos and yearbooks - The good old days. I can’t believe how time flies.

FROM CHRIS NIELSON

Hello Everyone
I have been meaning to put a post on this blog for months but am now just getting around to doing it. I tend to be slow at most things. Anyway, I hope everyone has sent in their checks and RSVP’s to the committee because I am excited for this class reunion.

I will try and keep this short and sweet. Life has sure changed for me since the last class reunion. At the last class reunion I was single and teaching school in West Valley City. I am now married, I have three kids with one due July 28th, I live in Annabella (by the way, my ward has a great bishop), and I teach school at North Sevier Middle School.

Just to give you a few more details. I am starting my 5th year at NSMS. I teach half a day (Algebra and Pre-Algebra) and am the school counselor for the other half of the day. However, the best change in my life is Jodi. You will all like her. We were married in February of 2007. People are always interested in how we met. We were next door neighbors and very good friends back at SUU during the 1997-1998 school year. But…we went our separate ways. She got married, transferred to USU to finish her degree and had three children. Levi is 7, Casey is 6 and Heston is 4. I finished up at SUU, taught in SLC and then secured my job with Sevier School District and moved to Annabella. A common friend told me that Jodi was divorced and told Jodi that I was still single. After a few phone calls and some e-mails, Jodi invited herself up to Annabella. She came the first weekend of June, 2006; we were engaged in November, and married in February of 2007. For someone as slow as I am, I feel like things moved along very quickly. Speaking of quick, before we could even celebrate our first anniversary, we were pleasantly surprised with a pregnancy. Our baby boy is due within a few days of the reunion. I don’t know of many things that will keep me away from a class reunion, but a birth would be one of them.

I had hopes of winning the newlywed and the newest baby award at the reunion, but two weeks ago David Cash got married and Jason Talley’s wife had a baby last week. Congratulations David and Jason. I will see you all at the reunion.

We are down to less than 3 weeks! To all of you who used the reunion as a motivator to lose a couple pounds, congrats! I am sure you look great! To those of us who had the best intentions but let the time slip away, there's always the 20th. LOL!

The reunion will officially kick off on Thursday, July 24th at 4:00 p.m. at the Mountain View Park (across from the high school) All children, spouses and significant others are invited to attend. We have reserved a bounce house and big blow up slide for the kids, we will have badminton and other games to play. There will be softball equipment available for those of you who would like to play. (Please bring your own mitts.) This will be a fun and relaxing afternoon to catch up and meet everybody's families. Drinks and refreshments will be served.

The 24th of July concert is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. at the middle school in Monroe, with fireworks at 9:30 p.m. We thought it would be fun to sit together with our families, so we will be roping off an area on the football field for our class. Bring your own blankets or chairs.

The adults only dinner is on Friday, July 25th at 6:00 p.m. This will be held at South Sevier High School. We have planned a great dutch over dinner and short program for this evening. We have put together a picture DVD that will be shown this night. These are available for purchase for $5, and will be available at the reunion for those of you who pre-order.

We hope everyone is excited to reconnect with friends from the past and share some memories. We certainly are! We'll see you all soon!

Here is a list of motels/hotels in Richfield. The Travelodge is offering our classmates a discounted rate for the reunion. It is normally $80.00 a night, and they are giving us the rate of $64.00 a night. They had about a dozen rooms when I spoke to them. It is a first come, first serve basis, and you just need to tell them that you are with the 93 SSHS reunion. If anyone finds a good deal from anyone else, please let me know and I will post it.

Kristi Christiansen (Wilkinson)

Hi to everyone! This blog was a great idea - I'm loooking forward to catching up with all of you. We have lived in Springville for the past 4 1/2 years. I work at Squire, an accounting firm in Orem. I really love what I do and the people I work with. This summer a group of us from work are running the Wasatch Back Relay from Logan to Park City. We have 4 kids. They keep us very busy with sports. The girls play volleyball 4 days a week from Dec to June so I'm looking forward to baseball season so I can be outside instead of in a gym! Unfortunately, I don't have any cheerleaders!! For the past 13 years, our lives have revolved around football. This is the first year since we've been married that Clint is not coaching. We are trying to get used to having him around. Cassidy is 15, Chase 12, Kilee 11, and Kambree 8. We love living close to lakes and mountians. We can spend the summers wakeboarding and the winters snowboarding.
See you all in July!

Ami (Schoemig) Hunsaker

It has been so fun to read about everyone and see your families. Lance and I are living in Riverton, Utah. We have two children, Lauren (three) and Clint (one), they are such a joy. I am a stay at home mom and enjoy every minute of it! My husband spent four years coaching football at the University of Utah as well as working on his Masters degree. He finished his degree last May and decided that the many hours that coaching took away from our family wasn't worth it. He is currently partnering with a fellow graduate of SSHS and starting a new business and we are so excited about it. Because my Mom and my sister are still in Monroe I either see or hear about a lot of you. It is fun to see Casey officiating my father-in-laws basketball games. Just make sure not to "T" him up, it isn't good for either one of us. I also have heard that there is a "Cory For Stake President" campaign going on as well. I can't wait to catch up with you all and see your families. See you all this summer!!!

Fun Stuff,

It has been fun to read what everyone has been up to. As for me, I'm still living in Tooele having a pretty good time. I an undertaker at Tate Mortuary. I love my Job but it doesn't let me get home nearly as my much as I'ld like. I'm married to the former Millie Dangerfield from Holladay (No Relation to Rodney) We are lucky enough to have the cutest girl in the world for a daughter (McKenzie.) She is gonna turn 3 this summer. She definatly keeps on our toes. I'm kind of like Casey totally impressed that some of our classmates have so many kids. I see my brother with his basketball team with one for the bench and just see a headache. Over all life is great. I don't have any super news worthy happenings going on. I hope to see you all this summer.

Hello to all of you! I'm really happy to read about all of you and the many successes that are taking place forthe class of 93'. I'm currently living in Cedar City and working as the Director of the Utah Summer Games. Cori and I were blessed with our first child a year ago. Chandler turned 1 year old in February and I'm so grateful to finally be a dad!!!

I hope that we will be able to make it in July. I look forward to catching up with you all. It is amazing how much I took for granted in high school, it seems just yesterday, I sure wish that I would have done some things different! Makes me nervous to think about the person I used to be.

I saw Patricia Player at Wal-Mart in Cedar buying fish for her kids Sydney is a mini - Trish! Her kids are so darn cute!

Wendy has a day care? Cory being a bishop is not nearly as scary as Wendy teaching young children!!!!

I hope you are all well!!! Take Care!

Casey

p.s. Keely and Shane are amazing!! One child and I'm hammered how on earth do they chase around an entire basketball/baseball team! :)

Casey Hansen

Hello,

My wife, Michelle, and I are currently living in the Seattle area with our two daughters, Kendyl and Lauren. Everything is going well.

I am working for Microsoft through a contract company doing data analysis on software license records. I really enjoy it and the best part is that I work almost completely from home, going into the office just once a week for a meeting.

Michelle stays home with the girls and has lots of fun with them. Kendyl will be five years old next month and Lauren just turned three in December.

Also, we plan to move to the Denver area around the end of June, if everything works out right. Hopefully we'll get there before the reunion.

-Casey

From Patricia Player Belnap

Hey!
I got to end up being a small town girl after all. We built a house in Enoch three years ago, and I hope to stay here forever. Blake and I have been married almost 12 years. He works as a manufacturing engineer at Lozier. I hang out at home with my kids: Sydney, Isaac, Brock and Derek. It's busy/crazy, but a ton of fun. I started teaching Sydney piano a couple years ago, and now I have 9 students. I guess you could say that makes me an official piano teacher. I am having a good time with that.
I will blame Michelle for our problem of never seeing each other. :) The good thing is that I have someone close that I know I can call for anything, even if I haven't talked to her for months. I also get to see Hyrum quite a bit because he's in my ward. Small world. It will be good to see everyone and catch up on old times this summer.

FROM WENDY CARTER

Hey everyone! Wow, where has the time gone? I am currently living in Pleasant Grove. My husband, Shaun, and I have been married for almost 11 years. He is in the military and is currently deployed in Iraq. We miss him terribly but are expecting him to be home this summer (hopefully for the reunion). I am currently a stay at home mom to our four precious daughters. I also run a daycare out of my home, so life is busy and hectic at times. But I love it and feel blessed for everything I have in my life. I missed our 5 and 10 year reunions so I am excited to see everyone again and catch up. I hear that Cory Sorensen is a bishop now! What the heck? I guess miracles do happen in our day!! LOL (Just Kidding, Cory. That's awesome!) We'll see you all soon.

Howdy Howdy!

I love reminiscing! I have been going through my old yearbooks getting ideas for my daughter's yearbook. Somehow I got roped into being in charge and now it's too late to get out of it. It will be great to visit with everyone this summer - especially Patricia :) She lives less than 3 miles from me and yet I only see her once or twice a year.

I also wanted everyone to know about a myspace page that Robyn (Utley) Ekker created for those of us that have graduated from SSHS from 1989-1996. Another great way to keep in touch with everyone (well the 6 people who have joined the group). http://groups.myspace.com/southsevierhighschool

Michelle Anderson (Strickland)

FROM KELLY JOHNSON...

"Hi Everyone....I am living right here in my hometown of Elsinore, and feel so blessed to be rasing my family in the Sevier Valley. We spend most of our time keeping up with our four active kids, attending their sporting events, and other activities they are involved in. When my baby started school a couple of years ago, I ventured out into the workplace, and am currently employed at one of our local medical clinics, in the business office. My husband Jeff, has partnered up with two of his brothers, and owns a successful structural steel business. We will be celebrating our 15 year wedding anniversary this summer, and look forward to spending it somewhere fun. We like to spend our free time in the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping, and boating. I look forward to catching up with all of you...and welcome any suggestions you may have to make this year's reunion a big success!

Kelly (Johnson) Carter"

FROM SHANE TOPHAM...

Eleny and I have been married for almost 12 years and currently live in Providence. We are the parents of 6 wonderful children who keep us on our toes and keep us young! I am continuing my work as an Electrical Engineer with the Russian Space program through the Space Dynamics Laboratory in North Logan. I also work on several other projects at the lab. My most recent, exciting personal accomplishment happened in September of 2007 when I ran in the Top of Utah marathon. I had so much fun I plan to do it again this year followed by sky diving!
~ Shane Topham

FROM KEELY TOLMAN

So, what have I been doing for the past 15 years? Well, we have 8 awesome kids so you all know what I have spent a lot of that time doing. LOL. Life is truly wonderful and I really can't complain about much (except laundry). We live in Cache Valley where my husband, Brady, owns a small, successful real estate brokerage. We will celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary this year and I can't believe that we are all getting so old! I don't feel 32 (remember in highschool when that seemed so ancient!) I definitely don't feel old enough to have a teenager! I am looking forward to hearing how everyone is and seeing you again. ~ Keely (Tolman) Pierce
